Innovation Analyst

The Innovation Analyst develops long-term, forward-thinking business strategies designed to keep InformedDNA several steps ahead of our competitors, open new opportunities for growth, and promote company objectives. He/she will work closely with leaders across product, sales, and marketing to solve ambiguous business problems, maximize our market potential, and identify key strategies to promote corporate goals. And, he/she will inspire a culture of innovation by creating tools and executing processes that promote company-wide collaboration and synchrony.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer to scope, discover, design, and implement business processes that support a company-wide Innovation infrastructure
● Coordinate internal meetings to identify and evaluate innovation opportunities; Lead work groups and facilitate discussions between stakeholders across all levels and functions to translate strategies into specific, results-driving initiatives
● Conduct market research and competitive analyses; identify, scope, and size new product and growth opportunities; draft positioning collateral
● Design, analyze and prepare documentation and reporting in support of product development or process implementation; Develop and implement measurable criteria to validate innovation concepts and evaluate post-implementation success
● Articulate the dependencies and relationships between business processes, roles and capabilities
● Generate ideas and solutions to complex business issues simply and effectively so that benefit/risk decisions can be made
● Provide input to change plans that mitigate risk and increase operational effectiveness
● Facilitate cross-functional team meetings to design internal training processes and resources (product managers, collateral, sell sheets) that enable all teams to effectively advance innovation strategies and promote new products
● Schedule and coordinate in-person Innovation team meetings 2-4 times per year
● Travel as required to meet with clients or collaborating organizations and for company meetings

Program Responsibilities

The Innovation Team is responsible for creating and pursuing strategies that meaningfully impact corporate goals. Applying analytical rigor and structured problem-solving, the Innovation Team engages leaders across the company in 1) strategic solutions for business opportunities and 2) problem-solving for critical business problems. As change agents, the Innovation Team is responsible not only for the formulation of these strategies, but also for engaging cross-functional teams in their pursuit.

Additional Job Requirements

This position is required to complete mandatory QA training sessions as determined by the Chief Operating Officer, and in compliance with Federal and State laws. This position will monitor that mandatory QA training is completed by those roles who report to the Vice President, Innovation as mentioned above.

Key Skills/Qualifications

● Must hold a BA/BS degree
● Minimum three (3) years’ of healthcare or life science experience with an emphasis on strategy/innovation, product development, business analysis or marketing
● Experience in developing new to the market products or services; genomics and managed care experience strongly preferred
● Creative problem solver
● Proven ability to boil down extensive research findings into relevant insights and create a focused, integrated strategic plan
● Entrepreneurial passion and acumen
● Resourcefulness-ability to procure detailed data, root-cause challenges, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
● Adept at storytelling, communicating complex information in a compelling and meaningful way
● Excellent project management and execution skills, with attention to detail and follow-up, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
● Comfort with communicating to an executive level audience
● Excellent communication and facilitation skills in one-to-one and group settings
● Ability to manage large projects and mobilize team for efficient project completion
● Ability to make decisions, even if it requires taking risks
● Work well in an evolving and lightly structured environment

● Experience complying with state and federal regulations
● Intermediate skill level using web-based programs, office productivity, and data analytics tools
